Becoming an Ancestor

The past few months have been very interesting, to say the least.  My time and energies were consumed by participation in the care of my mother.  Although she suffered great pain and discomfort, she decided to enter the realm of the Ancestors on Saturday, 6 April 2013.

Her name was Mary L. Evans Howell.  She could be described as: friendly, outgoing, giving, compassionate, mother, sister, daughter, friend, patient, understanding, reader, singer, appreciative of the Arts, “life of the party”, very social and tolerant.  I have learned through this process that family/friends/loved ones must tune into the patient’s/person’s desire.  We can become selfish and petition for the continuation of the physical life.  Most importantly, support is best when it aligns with the person’s final wishes!   ~Selah~
